Department of Radiotherapy Gandhi Medical College Bhopal is established in 1994 after bifurcation of Radiology into Radiotherapy and Radiodiagnosis .
The office OPD,IPD and all the Radiotherapy machine is situated in Kamla Nehru Hospital Building in premises of Hamidia Hospital.Bhopal.
The Radiotherapy department is running MD Radiotherapy course since 1995.More than 59 students have passed out MD Radiotherapy and working in various cancer centre of India and out of the country.
The department is treating all types of cancer .
The following facilities are available in the Department for Cancer patients Chemotherapy Ext.beam Radiotherapy(under upgradation process) Brachytherapy (intracavitory, interstitial implant , intraluminal, mould) Immunotherapy Targeted Therapy etc.
The Department have 30 beds in ward plus 10 day care beds at Kamla Nehru Hospital building
The department is well supported by other department like Pathology Radiodiagnosis, Surgery, Medicine ,Gynae, ENT etc. Special Clinic conducted for cancer patient nutrition, cancer screening and geriatric cancer clinic. Department is also working with ICMR for HBCR and National coordination Centre Pharmacoviilance Programme of India (NCCPVPI)
